Environmental Ambassador Scheme
Background of Nomination of Vehicle Repair Workshop Environmental Ambassadors
Since 2000, EPD has been collaborating with the Hong Kong Vehicle Repair Merchants Association (HKVRMA) and the Environmental Vehicle Repairers Association (EVRA) in implementing a partnership programme. These two trade associations nominate enthusiastic members to serve as Vehicle Repair Workshop (VRW) Environmental Ambassadors. The ambassadors devote efforts to adopt environmentally friendly operations in their own vehicle repairing workshops. In addition, they offer assistance to vehicle repair workshops referred to them by EPD, and help promote environmentally friendly operations and share experience with their peers. The ambassadors also collaborate with their trade associations and EPD in promoting environmental protection activities to the trade.
To further reinforce the Vehicle Repair Workshop (VRW) Environmental Ambassador Scheme, the scheme now extends recruitment to trade practitioners yet to join the partnership programme. The trade operators should meet the following conditions:

Member of a trade association* participating in the partnership programme and be nominated by the trade association.

For trade practitioners not falling in the above category, they should be nominated by a member of a trade association, who is serving as a Vehicle Repair Workshop (VRW) Environmental Ambassador.

Must be employed in the vehicle repair or related trade.

Must be enthusiastic about environmental protection, willing to promote environmental protection and share related experience, and to practise environmentally friendly operations.

Participate in the appointment ceremony and seminars arranged for environmental ambassadors.

The vehicle repair workshop of an environmental ambassador can apply to join the "Collaboration Scheme with Vehicle Repair Workshops"**.

The tenure of environmental ambassador is two years.

EPD has the final decision over the appointment of environmental ambassadors.

Fee
Joining the "Collaboration Scheme with Vehicle Repair Workshops" and serving as ambassadors are both free of charge.
