Application for Permission to Apply Directly for an Environmental Permit

Protect Title: Improvement Works to Tung Ping Chau Public Pier

 

Conditions Imposed under Section 5(12) of the EIA Ordinance

For Permission to Apply Directly for Environmental Permit

 

 

1.                  All measures described in the Project Profile submitted by the Applicant on 26 July 2004 shall be fully implemented.

 

2. Construction activities shall be restricted to within the site boundary as indicated in Drawing No. PW-GS04-002 of the Project Profile submitted by the Applicant on 26 July 2004.         

 

3.                  The applicant shall submit to the Director for approval at least one month before commencement of construction an Evironmental Monitoring and Audit Programme detailing:

 

(a)                 requirements on water quality monitoring with details on monitoring parameters, methodology, locations, frequency, action plan for baseline monitoring, impact monitoring, impact monitoring during the construction works and post-project monitoring for at least one month after completion of construction works;

(b)                a contingency plan will remedial actions for handling any possible accidental leakage of wastewater, fuel and/or other chemicals during construction; and

(c)              requirements on on-site corals monitoring with details on methdology, locations, duration, frequency and action plan to be carried out before, during and after the construction works. 

 

4.                  The application shall submit detailed architectural design drawings in both hardcopy and electronic copy to the Director for approval or as part of the application for an environmental permit. The drawings shall be able to demonstrate that the appearance of the pier and the roof will be visually compatible to the existing environment.

 

Note

Under Section 17 of the EIA Ordinance, the applicant may appeal to the Appeal Board against any of the above conditions within 30 days of the receipt of this notice of the Directorˇ¦s decision.
