This is the third Quarterly Environmental Monitoring and
Audit (EM&A) Summary Report for the Temporary Construction Waste Sorting
Facility at Tseung Kwan O Area 137 (the Project). This report presents a
summary of the environmental monitoring and auditing works carried out by the
ET for the Project for the period from May to July 2006.

The construction phase under Contract CV/2004/13 – Temporary
Construction Waste Sorting Facility at Tseung Kwan O Area 137 commenced on
l
Temporary access road construction including road kerb and
U-channel;
l
Installation of steel fence along the temporary access road;
l
Construction of car parking shelter at Engineer’s office;
l
Operation of Construction Waste Sorting Facilities (CWSF) by
manual sorting;
l
Installation of water spraying system for dust suppression;
l
Forming end-tipping platform and access
ramp for mechanical sorting plant;
l
Erection of mechanical sorting plant;
l
Slope trimming to enlarge the operational area for the
mechanical sorting plant;
l
Testing and commissioning for mechanical sorting plant;
l
Construction of water meter applied from WSD;
l
Construction of planter area and by-pass ingress near
combined reception & exit office;
l
Landscaping works at Portion B1; and
l
General site formation for surface
runoff at Portion A.
