1. All measures described in the Project Profile submitted to EPD on 17.12.2002 shall be fully implemented, including :
l 1:1 compensatory planting of trees be adopted;
l The area affected by the project shall be hydroseeded with native shrubs and covered with biodegradable erosion control mat or similar material to prevent erosion and washing away of the seeds;
l Excavated materials that are suitable for backfilling shall be reused on-site or in other projects;
l The mitigation measures as stated in Air Pollution Control (Construction Dust) Regulation and in ProPECC PN 1/94 for control of dust and construction site runoff shall be implemented; and
l Temporary chunam J-channels immediately upslope of the trench works shall be installed to prevent washout of temporary stockpiled excavated materials; and
l Temporary stockpiled excavated materials shall be stored on the downslope side of the trench.
Note:
Under section 17 of the EIA Ordinance, the applicant may appeal to the Appeal Board against the above condition within 30 days of the receipt of this notice of the Director’s decision.
