SEK Model Grid – Overview
SEK Model Grid – Close Up (Without 600 m Opening at the Runway)
Based on the model results available from the KTPR (1), the flow velocities predicted at the closed grid cells at the runway boundary are small. The predicted velocities at the runway boundary would be less than 0.5 m/s at mid-flood/mid-ebb and less than 0.1 m/s at most of the times. In view of the small velocity, numerical errors associated with the change of orthogonality should be small. Therefore the closed grid cells at the boundary of the southern runway have been adjusted to form a grid line that is parallel to the runway boundary (rather than keeping these closed grid cells orthogonal). Orthogonality at open grid cells has been checked to be adequate.
