Poster, radio and TV announcement embracing the twin messages of the campaign i.e. “Use reusable instead of disposable items at the coast” and “Take one’s rubbish home” have been specially prepared to raise public awareness.
As part of the Clean Shorelines Campaign, this website was launched on 25 May 2013 to serve as an e-Platform to share information with:
- news on cleanup operations and publicity campaigns;
- useful contacts of key government departments to obtain support for arranging cleanup operation and removing refuse from beaches;
- links to useful guidance documents on organising cleanup operations published by non-governmental organisations;
- non-governmental organisations’ experience sharing on the plastic pellet incident;
- channels to report on marine littering;
- facts and statistics of marine refuse, top stories and photo gallery.
