Public Consultation in update of HK Air Quality Objectives

 

"Join us in setting new benchmarks for Hong Kong's Air Quality Objectives. We need your participation in the pursuit for clean air and a green living environment. "

The air we breathe impacts our health. In mid-2007, the Government engaged a consultant in a study to review Hong Kong's  Air Quality Objectives (AQOs) , with a view to determining the new limits on the air pollutants in the atmosphere that will better protect human health. In order for the new AQOs to bring actual improvement to the air quality, the promulgation of the new standards should come with a programme of emission control measures to help the community achieve the new Objectives. We have recently completed the Study, the findings of which are provided in the Consultation Document and the final report in details.

We would like to invite your views on the proposals as detailed in the consultation document and summarized in a leaflet. Please see below :

Consultation document and Leaflet are available at the offices of the Environmental Protection Department, Public Libraries and the Public Enquiry Servcie Centres of the Home Affairs Department. When returning by mail, you can use the attached page of postage paid questionnaire (page back is an envelope) in the consultation document or in the leaflet. No postage stamp necessary if posted in Hong Kong.
