4. Approach on handling RPIS Minor Projects
4.1 | Works departments, or their consultants, are requested to take into account guidance in Section 3 for planning, design and implementation of Rural Planning and Improvement Strategy (RPIS) Minor Projects. For projects that are not Designated Projects under the EIA Ordinance and conform with the above guidances, no individual consultation with Environmental Protection Department or Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department is required, unless specifically asked for by Environmental Protection Department or Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department. |
4.2 | If the RPIS Minor Projects are Designated Projects under the EIA Ordinance, the project proponents should follow the requirements stipulated under the EIA Ordinance. |
4.3 | If the RPIS Minor Projects are not Designated Projects under the EIA Ordinance and cannot conform with the above guidance, the works departments, or their consultants, should submit project profile for individual project to Environmental Protection Department and work out necessary environmental mitigation measures. |
4.4 | Protocol on handling RPIS Minor Projects is diagrammatically shown for easy reference. |
4.5 | Should there be any enquiry on applying the above guidance or projects that are not included in this Guidance Note, works departments or their consultants are welcome to consult the Environmental Assessment Division, Environmental Protection Department (Telephone : 2835 1129, Facsimile : 2591 0558) |
