3.18 | Training of natural rivers and streams should not be carried out unless absolutely necessary. Any required engineering works should be designed and constructed in such a way to retain as much as possible the existing natural features of the water course. Substantial addition, abstraction or diversion of flow should be avoided as far as possible. |
3.19 | Channelisation should be avoided as far as possible. If channelisation is required, use of lining which support vegetation growth should be considered and adopted as far as practicable. Landscape proposal should be implemented to reduce the visual impact. |
3.20 | River-based works should be scheduled in dry season so as to minimise the water quality impact downstream. If there are beaches downstream, the works should be scheduled in non-bathing season. |
