Sewerage Works

 

3.23 Public sewer connection should first be adopted prior to the use of on-site sewage treatment & disposal facility. For village type housing, if public sewer is not available, use of septic tank and soakaway in accordance with the EPD's Professional Persons Environmental Committee Practice Note (ProPECC PN) 1/94 requirements is generally acceptable. However, provisions should be made for possible future sewer connection. Septic tank and soakaway should not be located at narrow alley between houses.
