Controls under the Waste Disposal Ordinance (Cap. 354) have been fully implemented for the proper management of chemical waste in Hong Kong since 1993.
Chemical waste producers

Chemical waste producers are required to register with the Environmental Protection Department before engaging in activities that produce chemical waste
-
Chemical waste should be properly packed and labelled, and stored in a safe manner prior to collection and disposal.
Waste Collectors
-
All movements of chemical waste should be accompanied by "trip-ticket" forms for monitoring and record purpose.
- Only licensed waste collectors should transport chemical waste.
Treatment/Disposal Facilities
- Treatment and disposal (including reprocessing and recycling of chemical waste should be carried out at licensed facilities.
