Control on Import and Export of Waste
Enforcement Figures
A total of 13 shipments of hazardous/contaminated waste were intercepted in 2023 as imported into Hong Kong without prior notification to the EPD. These waste shipments included:
| i) | 4 shipments from Asia; |
| ii) | 4 shipments from North America; |
| iii) | 5 shipments from Africa. |
All waste concerned had been returned to the corresponding states of export.
