Promoting the Partnership Programme

The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) participated in the 37th Hong Kong Products Expo held at Tamar from 14th December 2002 to 6th January 2003. The theme of EPD's exhibition is "Partnership Programmes with the Community for a Better Environment". The partnership programme for the vehicle repair workshop trade was one of the items displayed by EPD. This helped EPD in promoting the public's environmental awareness and publicing government's work in helping the trades. In an interview by the RTHK, the chairman of the Hong Kong Vehicle Repair Merchants Association shared his experience about the partenship programme. The Expo organiser also designated 4 January 2003 to be the "Environmental Day", during which a publicity performance was organised by EPD in collaboration with the RTHK in the afternoon. Some singers, helped to deliver environmental protection messages to the public and the trades.
