2014 Workshops on Application of Water-based Vehicle Refinishing Paints
- To enhance the environmental awareness of the vehicle repair workshop (VRW) practitioners and their understanding on practical requirements for applying water- based vehicle refinishing paints, the Environmental Protection Department has commissioned the Pro-Act Training and Development Centre (Automobile) to organize a series of workshops on the application of water-based vehicle refinishing paints for the VRW trade. The workshops have introduced the techniques for application of water-based vehicle refinishing paints with demonstrations by instructors, and participants have had hands-on spraying practices in the workshops.
- Water-based paints contain less organic solvents than traditional paints and therefore emit less volatile organic compounds during paint spraying. Vehicle repair workshop practitioners who attended the workshops were highly satisfied with the use and performance of water-based vehicle refinishing paints.
