2005/2006 Airport Environmental Best Practice Competition Awards Presentation Ceremony
This year, the Hong Kong Airport Authority organized the "Airport Environmental Best Practice Competition" with the theme "Green Restaurants". The competition aimed at elevating the environmental awareness and knowledge in environmental protection technologies of the restaurants and franchised shops in the airport.
Business Facilitation Office of the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) was invited as a co-organizer and member of the judging panel for this competition. Other members of the panel included representatives from the Hong Kong Airport Authority, Business Environment Council and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. More than 40 airport restaurants and franchised shops, including those in the terminal building, participated in this competition.
In February, the judging panel carried out a pre-screening exercise based on the information submitted by the participants. In March, the judging panel carried out an inspection and assessment of the environmental performance of the short-listed candidates at their premises. Eventually, 10 restaurants and 4 franchised shops in the terminal were selected as winners. The Awards Presentation Ceremony was held at the Regal Airport Hotel on 28th of March.
