The Department of Hotel, Service and Tourism Studies of the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Chai Wan) has been conducting the Professional Diploma Course in Chinese Restaurant Management for the seventh intake this year. The course participants were all from the restaurant trade. On 7 Jan 2008, Business Facilitation Office of EPD was invited to give a presentation with the topic namely "Smart Green Restaurant – Environmental Strategies of Restaurant Trade" and introduce the environmental regulatory requirements, related green management measures, latest pollution control technologies and etc. to the course participants. The presentation also covered the investigation of practicable suggestions and promoting the trade to include the green element in their operational plan and daily operation in order to raise their environmental performance.
