Visit from the Joint Delegation of Guangdong Province Administration for Industry & Commerce to the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department
A joint delegation comprising the Guangdong Province Administration for Industry & Commerce, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Guangdong Province, the Market Safety Supervision Administration of Shunde District etc. paid a visit to the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department on 30 May 2012. The purpose of the visit was to study the environmental laws and regulations, and the procedures of applying licences and permits in Hong Kong, in particular the environmental requirements of the restaurant trade.
Representatives from the EPD first presented an overview of environmental laws and compliance assistance of Hong Kong, followed by an introduction on the environmental requirements of the restaurant trade, licensing, complaint handling and prosecution procedures, as well as details of the Restaurant Partnership Programme. EPD representatives then gave the delegates a short tour to the facilities of the Compliance Assistance Centre, so as to demonstrate the services and facilitation provided to the trades. The visit was a fruitful exchange of experience between both sides.
