A proven innovator in Green Fire Engineering and a leader in gaseous recycling and fire extinguisher servicing, our company, Merito Technical Services Limited, website: http://www.merito.com.hk, (a fully owned subsidiary of Sunmansion Engineering Group Ltd., website: http://www.sunmansion.com), operates a fully licensed workshop in Yuen Long, where we professionally recover gaseous fire suppressants for environmental protection reasons. Our workshop is certified to the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, and complies with all relevant legal requirements, including environmental and occupational health and safety. For our value added service to our customers in enhancing their environmental protection programs, we developed our own unique bar-code software that when a fire extinguisher or cylinder is vested to us for servicing, the software registers its detailed history from day 1 to the end of its service life, so that customers will not service their equipment unduly or missing any mandatory process. Together with our bar-code system, we also invested in state-of-the-art hardware for large quantity fire extinguisher and cylinder hydraulic pressure and stretch tests in an environmental conscious manner in vastly energy and water savings, as well as to maintain top quality control to cope with our increasing business volume.
Merito’s commitment to being at the forefront of Hong Kong fire protection industry has more than keeping pace with changes in the marketplace. Prior to the stringent control of Halons worldwide in 1987 under the Montreal Protocol for their ozone layer depletion potential, Merito started searching for Halon alternatives. Merito introduced FM-200 system into Hong Kong in 1992 and became the pioneer to install FM-200 system for Hong Kong Government projects. Since then, we are the pioneering company to provide an environmental way in collection and disposal services for Halons when they no long serve their only purpose of fire suppression, and we are still active in such service. In enhancing our environmental protection policy, we are in the process of installing a liquid CO2 storage plant to improveour CO2 recycling efficiency.With this new installation, we will be able to further restrict CO2emission into the atmosphere during extracting and refilling process of fire extinguishers and cylinders, in shouldering some responsibility to reduce the global green house effect.
