ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
It is Lands Department’s policy to abide by the Government’s commitment to setting a “green” example through promoting staff awareness and involvement in environmental issues as well as encouraging reduction in the use of resources.
The Survey and Mapping Office of the Lands Department was awarded an ISO14001 certificate for the operation of the environmental management system in 2007. The system provides a Plan-Do-Check-Act management framework by which we can systematically identify and evaluate significant environmental aspects of our business processes and institute control mechanisms to minimize their impacts. The system also brings out the awareness of the staff in their contribution to the protection of the environment. Through setting environmental objectives and targets as well as regular performance monitoring, continual improvement actions are devised and taken. With the active participation of our staff in implementing the ISO14001 Environmental Management System, we provide our services and products in an environmentally friendly manner and contribute to creating a better and cleaner environment.
