Tradeport recognizes the importance of environmental protection and makes this an integral part of its business functions and responsibilities. We are committed to constantly improving our operations together with our partners and vendors so as to minimize the impact to the environment. Our four-step strategy is as follows:
- Optimise operations to minimize environmental impact and promote efficient use of resources and energy;
- Contribute to the environmental performance of the entire value chain in which Tradeport participates through co-evolution with customers and suppliers;
- Increase awareness of and impart skills to employees to integrate environmental considerations into our operations; and

Tradeport not only complies with the requirements of its customers and those of local authorities, we also follow all the relevant guidelines of the Hong Kong Airport Authority.
Achievements
Our environmental management system helps us to build up an environmental protection ethos in our working environment and also in our daily lives. Specifically, we aim to do the following:
- Conserve energy by reducing consumption
- Minimize air conditioning consumption by installing control and monitoring hardware on chiller plants
- Coordinate lighting schedules according to operational requirements
- Use energy saving devices and office equipment
- Recycle, reuse & reduce
- Recycle material by setting up recycle bins
- Reuse inbound customer’s packing material for outbound processing
- Reduce computer printout and use softcopy where possible
- Minimize pollution
- We use environmentally friendly forklifts powered by rechargeable batteries
Our Top Management is committed to a long-term environmental programme. We obtained our ISO14001:2004 certificate in November 2007 and we encourage employees at every level to practise and promote our environmental policy.
