The Company
China Railway Group Limited, after its controlling shareholder - China Railway Engineering Corporation (CREC), was established as a joint stock company with limited liability under PRC law on 12 September 2007. The A shares and H shares issued by the CRGL were listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the main board of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (the "Hong Kong Stock Exchange") on 3 December 2007 and 7 December 2007 respectively. The top ten shareholders of CRGL with selling restrictions include CREC and the Government of Singapore.
CREC was founded in 1950 and is the largest construction groups in the People's Republic of China (PRC). It is a state-owned company under the supervision of the State Assets Management Committee of the PRC. CREC is recognized as a leading company in civil engineering, building, construction, research, consulting and maintenance. Since 1980, CREC has entered the world construction market. CREC established its branch in Hong Kong in the year of 1999.
Nowadays, CRGL is the largest multi-functional integrated construction group in the PRC and Asia, and the third largest construction contractor in the World. CRGL offers a full range of construction-related services, including infrastructures construction, buildings construction, surveying, design and consulting services, engineering equipment and component manufacturing, properties development and mining.
HKQAA granted ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001 and Integrated Management System (IMS) certification to CRGL in May 2008. CREC obtained ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001 and IMS certification from HKQAA in January 2004.
Mission for Protecting the Environment
For the sake of the people living on Earth, protecting the environment and resources of the Earth is the mission CRGL committed. CRGL strives for better environment for our future generations and reserve as much as possible the limited natural resources for the future use. Hence, CRGL implemented the Environmental Management System (EMS), part of the IMS, and certified with ISO14001 for upholding the mission.
Corporate's Environmental Policy
In environmental issues, CRGL commits to continually improve its environmental performance and, ultimately, to minimize or even prevent any environmental impacts of its operations, activities, products and services. CRGL will identify materials, processes, products and wastes that cause or may cause pollution, and will implement measures to avoid, reduce or control pollution where technically and economically viable. Also, CRGL will comply with applicable environmental laws, regulations, codes of practice, and other requirements which relate to the environmental aspects to which the company subscribes. To achieve and maintain compliance, CRGL will develop and maintain EMS for identifying relevant requirements and for monitoring performance of related activities.
Benefits on Protecting the Environment
Presently, the Earth is the only living place human being can inhabit. Protecting the environment can allow us to stay longer on Earth, in the future thousands of years.
By ISO14001 EMS certification, CRGL successfully shares the induced benefits with its stakeholders. The benefits include reducing construction cost to the clients, minimizing wastage of material of the subcontractors, reducing dependency on natural raw material for the suppliers, improving health of staff and zero conviction record of the company.

As a proactive principal construction contractor, CRGL will continue to care for the environment and people on Earth by appropriate environmental certification, environmental policy, work system, staff training, and subcontractors and suppliers selection. The adoption of EMS together with Value Management System and Supply Chain Management System, CRGL will continuously improve the quality of its services and products provided to its clients, and shape an improving environment.
