The Benefits and Rationale that drive Sigma to gain ISO14001
Sigma Elevator (HK) Limited has successfully obtained certificate of ISO14001:2004 since 30 Dec 2010 and thereby the effective environmental policy and measures of paper saving and reduction for electricity and oil leakage have been established. We do so through a wider adoption of “Plan-Do-Check-Act” to continually ameliorate the environmental culture and performance of our workforce. In addition, our Procurement and New Equipment Departments are proactively considering more Green (Environmental Friendly) products , promoting our Green (Energy saving) lifts and escalators to the potential customers. In fact, it serves as an encouragement rather than complacency for us to continue to champion good environment as our core values, particularly focusing on enhancing the environmental performance of elevator repair, maintenance and alteration and addition works.
By sharing what we know and what we learn, implementing ISO14001 in the workplace can be further enhanced in order to increase the competitive advantages of the organization:
- reducing environmental risk and legal liabilities,
- minimizing business operation costs (cost savings in areas such an energy efficiency and waste minimization),
- meeting customer environmental demands,
- innovation of products and markets,
- enhancing employee environmental awareness, and
- improving corporate image and public relation.
