Being a member of the community, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council is committed to upholding a high and ethical standard in its operations.
The Exhibition Services Department of the HKTDC, by nature an exhibition contractor, pursues this commitment by implementing an Integrated Management System in compliance with ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007.
We see it important that not only should we be held responsible to our customers, employees and workers, but also to the environment in which we all live. By adopting the Reduce, Reuse and Recycle approach, we are trying to prevent pollution and minimize the environmental impacts caused by our production activities.
The immediate benefits of implementing ISO 14001 are obvious, which include lower material costs due to reuse and ploughed-back savings to customers using our services; while the long term benefits are less obvious, which include preservation of the environment and making the world a better place to live in for our future generations.
In our opinion, the long term benefits far outweigh the short term ones. In the course of our implementing ISO 14001, we are also delighted to know that this common cause of protecting the environment appeals greatly to our employees and workers alike, uniting us and changing for better the ways we do things.
