Report of Study Results
- Ground investigation fieldwork was completed in October 2005.
- Baseline gas monitoring and water sampling were conducted at and in the vicinity of the Landfill Extension area.
- A half-year ecological survey had been conducted at and in the vicinity of the Landfill Extension area.
- Archaeological survey completed in Aug 2005. No archaeological material was found in Tong To Shan Archaeological Site.
- Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA) completed in Sep 2005. TIA result shows that there will be no adverse impact on the adjacent road network both during construction and operation of the Landfill Extension since the Landfill Extension will be operated after the closure of existing NENT Landfill. Sha Tau Kok Road has sufficient capacity to carry the traffic flows to Year 2020.
- DIA completed in Aug 2005. The assessment result suggests that the Lin Ma Hang Stream will unlikely be affected. Drainage impact to Ping Yuen River is minimal (See 3D illustration of DIA results)"
- Visual impact to adjacent villages is illustrated by 3D presentation.
EIA report was approved with conditions by the Director of Environmental Protection on 20 Sep 2007
