Highlights of the Forum - "How to Make a Business Greener and More Competitive"
The Forum -"How to Make a Business Greener and More Competitive" was successfully held on 11 December 2004 at World Trade Centre Club, 38/F World Trade Centre, Causeway Bay. About 150 executives and professionals participated in the forum.
The forum is jointly organized by Hong Kong Women Professionals and Entrepreneurs Association, with Hong Kong Employment Development Service, Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Zonta Club of Hong Kong II, Young Entrepreneurs' Organization -- Hong Kong Chapter Ltd. and Young Industrialists Council Youth Chapter as the co-organizers. Environmental Protection Department, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department and Hong Kong Productivity Council are the supporting organizations.
The forum is officiated by the President of the Legislative Council, Honorable Mrs. Rita FAN, GBS, JP and Mrs. Eva CHENG, Chairman of Hong Kong Women Professionals and Entrepreneurs Association. The seminar is divided into four parts:
- Assistant Director of Environmental Protection Department, Mr. Elvis AU, first elaborates on how to implement environmental management into operation, so as to enhance enterprises' productivity and competitive;
- Engineer from Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, Ms. Iris LAU, introduces how to advocate efficient energy usage and to achieve effective resources allocation within enterprises;
- Representative of Hong Kong Productivity Council suggests ways to improving the enterprises to the most efficient level through environmental auditing; and
- Representatives of successful industrial and commercial enterprises share their success on the adoption of various environmental practices and management system.
The Honorable Mrs. Rita FAN, GBS, JP, President of the Legislative Council, officiated the opening.
