EPD
advises drivers not to use fuel with unknown contents
The Environmental
Protection Department (EPD) today (September 20) advises drivers
not to use fuel with unknown contents.
A spokesman
for the EPD said the so called rapeseed oil available for
sale as vehicle fuel contained various mixtures of light diesel
oil and kerosene.
"The
quality is not controlled to be fit for use by motor vehicles.
"Using
these mixtures in vehicles will definitely lead to increased
emission of air pollutants, especially particulates and hydrocarbons.
"Vehicle
engines would also be easily damaged," the spokesman added.
