Proposed
amendments to sewerage works in Tai Po gazetted
A proposal
to amend part of the sewerage works along Ting Kok Road in
Tai Po was gazetted today (June 22).
The works,
which was authorised in February 1998, will enhance the sewage
collection in the area and protect the water quality of Tolo
Harbour, a spokesman for the Environmental Protection Department
(EPD) said.
The proposed
amendments are made to take into account the views of local
residents.
"It involves
the relocation of a proposed sewage pumping station and associated
revision of a section of sewer. The proposed pumping station
will be moved from a site near Shuen Wan Chim Uk to Tung Tsz
Nursery, about 100 metres north from its original location.
"Due
to the relocation of the sewage pumping station, some road
works will be affected. A separate notice for the proposed
amendments to the road works was also gazetted today.
"The
sewerage amendment works, which will be carried out by the
Territory Development Department, are scheduled to start in
October and expected to complete in 12 months."
Details
of the proposed amendments, in both English and Chinese, will
