Sewerage
for four areas in Sai Kung gazetted
A proposal
to construct a public sewerage system at the unsewered areas
of Tai Chung Hau, Ta Ho Tun, Mang Kung Wo and Pak Sha Wan
in Sai Kung was published in the Government Gazette today
(January 4).
The system will convey wastewater from these unsewered areas
to the existing Sai Kung Sewage Treatment Works for treatment
and disposal, a spokesman for the Environmental Protection
Department (EPD) said.
"It
will enhance the sanitary conditions of these areas and improve
the water quality of Port Shelter.
"The
works, which will be carried out by the Drainage Services
Department, are scheduled to start in late 2003 for completion
in early 2006," the spokesman noted.
Details
of the proposal, in both English and Chinese, have been posted
on the notice boards near the proposed works areas for public
inspection.
