Statistics in September
A total of 48
convictions were recorded in September for breaching anti-pollution
legislation enforced by the Environmental Protection Department.
Among them,
14 were convictions made under the Air Pollution Control Ordinance,
12 under the Waste Disposal Ordinance, 11 under the Noise Control
Ordinance, eight under the Water Pollution Control Ordinance and
three under the Dumping at Sea Ordinance.
The heaviest
fine in September was $30,000.
A company was
fined $30,000 for failing to submit a self-monitoring report, which
was a provision of a license under the Water Pollution Control Ordinance.
