More
user-friendly EPD website launched
The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) today (March 15) launched
its revamped website to introduce more user-friendly features and
provide the public with easier access to environmental information.
"The website has been redesigned to help the public to readily locate
the information they need among the massive volume of environmental
information," a spokesman for the department said.
The environmental standards and guidelines have been packaged into
one webpage to make it easier for readers to look up such information.
A one-stop key to various environmental statistics has also been
introduced.
An Environmental Protection Interactive Centre has been set up to
provide statistics and environmental information according to readers'
specific requirements such as the period for a certain set of air
or water quality data.
With the increasing use of pocket personal computers, a portable
digital assistant (PDA) version has been introduced to the revamped
website for the more popular webpages.
"Our website is an important tool for us to communicate with the
public and to disseminate the most up-to-date information," the
spokesman said.
"We are firmly committed to providing more customer-oriented services
to the public," he noted.
The revamped website, which will be regularly updated, can be accessed
through www.epd.gov.hk.
