Kam Tin Trunk Sewerage Phase 1 authorised
The Chief Executive in Council has authorised the scheme for the trunk sewerage in Kam Tin and Nam Sang Wai.
The trunk sewerage scheme consists of constructing about 6.6 kilometres of sewers, about 5.7 kilometres of twin rising mains, and three sewage pumping stations.
"The scheme will improve the sanitary condition and the environment of Kam Tin and Nam Sang Wai," a spokesman for the Environmental Protection Department said today (November 18).
"It will also help improve the water quality of Deep Bay."
Construction works are scheduled to commence in December 2005. It will take about 41 months to complete.
Details of the works were published in the Government Gazette on July 16 and 23 last year while the approval for the sewerage scheme was gazetted today.
