Twenty-nine EPD convictions in April

Twenty-nine convictions were recorded last month (April) for breaches of legislation enforced by the Environmental Protection Department.

Eleven of the convictions were under the Air Pollution Control Ordinance, nine under the Noise Control Ordinance, and nine under the Waste Disposal Ordinance.

The heaviest fine in April was $12,000, assessed against a company that manufactured or imported a volatile organic compound content excess the limit of a regulated adhesive that is listed in Part 2 of Schedule 7, Air Pollution Control (Volatile Organic Compounds) Regulation.
