Twenty-seven EPD convictions in November
Twenty-seven convictions were recorded last month (November) for breaches of legislation enforced by the Environmental Protection Department.
Three of the convictions were under the Air Pollution Control Ordinance, 11 under the Noise Control Ordinance, one under the Ozone Layer Protection Ordinance and 12 under the Waste Disposal Ordinance.
The heaviest fine in November was $30,000, assessed in three convictions respectively against a company that carried out prescribed construction work not in accordance with the conditions of a construction noise permit.
