Village
sewerage for Sha Chau Lei Tsuen
The Environmental
Protection Department published in the government gazette
today (Friday) a plan to build a village sewerage system at
Sha Chau Lei Tsuen in Yuen Long.
The new
sewerage system will effectively reduce pollutants currently
discharged to nearby watercourses, and bring improvements
to the environmental conditions of the area, a spokesman for
the Environmental Protection Department said.
The works,
which will be carried out by the Drainage Services Department,
are scheduled to start in June 1999 for completion two years
later.
Details
of the plan, in both English and Chinese, have been posted
on the notice boards for public inspection near the site of
the proposed sewerage works.
