Sewerage
improvement for villages in North District
The Environmental
Protection Department (EPD) is planning to provide sewerage
to 16 villages in the North District as part of the Government's
effort to improve the water quality of Deep Bay.
The proposed works under the North East New Territories Landfill
Village Sewerage Phase II was published in the Government
Gazette today (Friday).
The villages
where sewerage works will be carried out include Fung Wong
Wu, Chuk Yuen, Ha Heung Yuen, Heung Yuen Wai, Hung Leng, Kan
Tau Wai, Kaw Liu Village, Leng Tsai, Pak Hok Shan, Ping Che,
Ping Yeung, Ta Kwu Ling, Tai Po Tin, Tai Tong Wu, Tong Fong
and Tsung Yuen Ha.
The works,
which will be carried out by the Drainage Services Department,
are scheduled to start in March 2001 and expected to be completed
in 36 months.
Details
of the proposal, in both English and Chinese, will be put
up at prominent position near the works area.
