Annual
report on environment published
The Environmental
Protection Department's latest annual report, which provides
a wealth of information about environmental work in Hong Kong,
was published today (Friday).
Entitled Environment Hong Kong 1999, the publication is designed
to inform the community about the state of our environment
and to stimulate thinking that could turn awareness into action
against pollution.
The full-colour
266-page report is printed on recycled paper.
Apart
from special articles on the work carried out by the department,
the report also covers a wide range of environmental programmes
carried out elsewhere within the Government, illustrated with
diagrams and tables.
With a
well-designed layout, the report serves as an easy reference
for members of the public who are interested in local environmental
protection work.
Chinese
and English versions of the report and the bilingual CD-ROM
are on sale at $88 and $52 each respectively at the Government
Publications Centre, ground floor, Lower Block, Queensway
Government Offices, 66 Queensway, Hong Kong. The report is
also available through the EPD's web site at www.info.gov.hk/epd/.
