A
total of 14 patches of montane forest were examined
during the survey period. Over 50% of the survey
sites showed 100% correct identification in mapping
accuracy. The majority of the mis-classified habitats
have been re-classified under the "Shrubby
Grassland" or "Mixed Shrubland"
category. The mis-identification is probably due
to spectral proximity of these vegetation types
which has made the shrubby habitats indistinguishable
from montane forest. Survey sites which have been
mis-identified as Montane Forest are listed in
Table 6.1a.
