Among
the 166 sub-sites surveyed for this category,
about 45% were mapped with 100% accuracy. There
was a total of 51 sub-sites which were completely
mis-identified and subsequently re-classified
under other habitat categories, such as Freshwater/Brackish
Wetland and Other (Table
6.1j). Many of the fishpond sites have been
filled for construction purposes whilst some others
have been abandoned for a long time and become
high value habitats, e.g. wetlands, or dominated
by shrubs and grasses (and thus have been re-identified).

The
majority of the sites surveyed were mapped with
100% accuracy. Only two survey sites, ie Site
125a (Tai O) and Site 128a (Trio Beach), had a
portion of their area mis-identified (Table 6.1k).
About 70% of the mapped area at Tai O was re-classified
as Rocky Shore as it was mainly occupied by large,
immobile boulders and rocks, intermingled with
sandy substratum. The other site is near Trio
Beach (Site 128a) where 10% of the site should
be re-categorised as intertidal mudflat.

correctly.
