About this Cyber Helpdesk

Welcome to the Cyber Helpdesk on Environmental Performance Report

This website provides useful information to assist public sector organizations to report on their environmental performance. While this site is primarily designed for public sector users, private sector organizations are also welcome to make use of any relevant information provided.

In the 1998 Policy Objectives, the HKSAR Government committed to a government-wide environmental reporting initiative, requiring all bureaux and departments to produce annual environmental reports, and encouraging quasi-governmental organizations to do likewise.

To support this initiative, EPD has produced two resource documents, namely A Guide to Environmental Reporting for Controlling Officers (referred to as the COER Guide) and A Benchmark for Environmental Performance Reports (referred to as the EPR Benchmark) to provide guidance. Since 2000, HKSARG departments and bureaux have started publishing annual environmental performance reports.

To continually support this reporting initiative, EPD establishes this Cyber Helpdesk to provide readily-accessible, concise guidance and information for reporters. This Helpdesk builds upon the two EPD guidebooks mentioned above, and consolidates past experience from the operation of EPD's telephone hotline helpdesk from 1999 to 2002. It is hoped that through the use of this Cyber Helpdesk website, public sector reporters could find the information they need to prepare and enhance their reports.
