Introduction
Pollutions from construction industry traditionally have been controlled through laws and enforcement actions. Although this approach usefully served to punish the polluters, it is not so effective in encouraging compliance and nurturing green culture in the industry. To engage the industry in pollution prevention, the EPD has established partnership with the construction trade since 1997. Through regular contacts, sharing sessions, workshops and joint initiatives, we are able to educate construction personnel on how and why they need to control their pollutions. The payoff from these efforts is increased compliance, fewer pollution complaints and continual improvement of the industry’s overall environmental performance.

Our Objectives

| Jun 2018 | Collaborated with the Hong Kong Construction Association to co-organize the Joint EPD-HKCA Environmental Seminar 2018 - Construction Waste Management 2.0. The event showcased HKCA's Trip Ticket System for proper management and tracking of C&D wastes in private works projects and other innovative / advanced waste management methods adopted by the public works sector and leaders of the construction trade. |
