The output habitats from Satellite Imagery Classification (Section 4.2.2) was converted from ER Mapper (Section 4.1.5) to an ArcInfo Grid (raster format) and then to an ArcInfo Coverage (vector format). Polygons under 400 square metres were eliminated. Since the resulting line work was pixelated (formed from pixels of 10 x 10 m2), a smoothing algorithm in ArcInfo was used to give the resulting map a more realistic appearance.

The above habitats were combined with those prepared from existing data (Section 4.2.3) using ArcInfo. An Arc Macro Language (AML) program was written to perform this task.
