In view of the overwhelming support from employers and graduates on The Green Employment Scheme: Graduates Subsidy Programme (GSP) since 2020, Environment and Ecology Bureau will launch the GSP again this year. The new GSP 2022 subsidizes private companies and suitable organizations to employ 2021 or 2022 graduates working in areas related to environmental protection, ecological conservation, green energy and energy conservation, climate change, sustainable development and more, with a view to providing job opportunities to graduates interested in environment-related fields and to nurturing talents for meeting needs on various environmental fronts. The GSP 2022 is implemented and administrated by the Environmental Protection Department (EPD). The application opens on 4 July till 30 September 2022.
The GSP 2022 will subsidize about 300 jobs with $5,610/month for a period of 18-months. Moreover, the Environmental Academy of the EPD will collaborate with various professional societies and organizations to provide participating graduates with free professional training (the GreenPro Training Programme) to help them better equipped with latest knowledge and experience in various environmental-related areas.
